Description
4:25 am at St Monans, one of the many beautiful historic fishing villages along Scotland's east coast. After shooting the pink full moon on Easter Saturday, I was treated to a superb sunrise. I particularly like this view over the harbour wall where the fisherman's cottages lead the eye along the coast towards the windpump that fed the salt pans, and the Pittenweem harbour in the distance.
It was unusually warm and hazy weather for the time of year. The haze lifted enough to reveal brightly coloured bands of cloud during the transition from blue hour to sunrise. This is the second of four 2 minute exposures to show the changes in colours as the tide ebbs away.
