Description
Ailsa Craig from Turnberry, Ayrshire, Scotland.
The light this evening was so reminiscent of my times in Portugal. So much clarity in the air that the afterglow off the stratosphere was fantastic. So colourful.
Wandering the beach in the twilight, I found some nice curves like this one, offset by the only clouds in the sky. Ailsa Craig is a 340m tall volcanic plug 10 miles off the coast that is the source of floorless blue granite for all the world's curling stones.

Fantastic light, colors, and lines in this one - just a beautiful, quiet piece. I especially like the way the curving line seems to draw us out to the volcanic plug. In the Best of Minimalism group, features depend on nominations by members; this is one of my two pod's for December 3.
